Delivery Channels
A channel is where your reports get sent. Each aggregator can have more than one, and every report goes to all of them.
Eventkiwi currently delivers to email and Telegram.
Email
Email is set up for you. The first time you sign in, Eventkiwi creates an email channel pointing at your account address, so a new aggregator can send reports without any extra configuration.
Email reports include the written summary, a table of event counts with the change against the previous period, an inline sparkline per event, and tag breakdowns.
Telegram
Telegram delivers the report as a chat message, followed by the trend charts as images. The text arrives first on purpose, so the notification preview shows the summary rather than just "Photo".
The message is the email report trimmed to read well on a phone: the written summary, then the first 20 events with their count and change, the top 3 tags under each, and the total. If there are more than 20 events, the message ends with "…and N more".
Connecting a private chat
- Open Channels in the app and choose Connect Telegram.
- Scan the QR code, or click Open Telegram, to start a chat with the Eventkiwi bot.
- The bot replies to confirm the chat is connected.
Connecting a group
- Open Channels and choose Connect Telegram.
- Add the Eventkiwi bot (its username is shown in the dialog) to the group.
- Copy the
/start …command from the dialog and send it in the group.
The bot confirms in the group, and from then on the whole team gets the report. (The Open Telegram link always opens a private chat with the bot, so use the command for groups.)
The link and the command work once and expire after an hour. If they expire before you use them, generate new ones from the same page.
Bot commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/start | Connects this chat, using the code from the Channels page |
/stop | Stops reports arriving in this chat |
If a chat becomes unreachable
If you block the bot, remove it from a group, or delete the chat, Eventkiwi marks the channel stopped instead of failing on every run. It stays visible on the Channels page with a Reconnect button, so you can see what happened and reconnect when you're ready.
Testing a channel
Every channel has a Send test action on the Channels page. It sends a sample report through that channel so you can confirm delivery before trusting it with a schedule. Test reports do not count against your event allowance.
Not yet available
The SLACK and WEBHOOK channel types exist in the data model but do not
deliver reports yet. Email and Telegram are the two that work today.
